College of Business Facilities

  • Wireless Technology
    • The College of Business provides wireless technology throughout the building. The wireless network supports 802.11b and 802.11g equipment in all classrooms, offices, and public areas of Miller Hall.
  • Rathe Computer Lab
    • Housed in the Business School, Miller Hall room 206, is the Rathe Computer Lab. The lab has 20 Dell computers which are updated every two years, and one laserjet printer. There is a lab assistant working at all open hours. The lab computers have the following software installed: Microsoft Office 2003 Professional, SPSS 13.0, Simnet 2003*, BusinessPlan software, Global Business Strategy Game, Microsoft FrontPage, Acrobat Reader, and ETrust Antivirus. Students have all the software needed to complete any projects or homework assigned to them.
    • *Simnet 2003 is a McGraw Hill software used in Freshman year for the Business lab requirement in BA 100. It is a teaching software used to teach Business students Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Laptops
    • The College of Business has 30 Toshiba Satellite laptop computers to loan to students. These laptops can be checked out for 24 hours to any Business student. Students should see the lab assistant in Miller 206 to check out a laptop. The laptops have the following software installed: Microsoft Office 2003 Professional, SPSS 13.0, BusinessPlan software, Global Business Strategy Game, Microsoft FrontPage, Acrobat Reader, and ETrust Antivirus.
  • Multi Media Classrooms
    • In the Business School, all classrooms are Multi Media Classrooms which includes the following equipment: computer, ceiling projector, DVD player, VCR, document camera, wireless remote for power point presentations, and external laptop connection. Faculty have the latest equipment so they can use technology to the fullest when teaching. And students have access to all equipment when required to do presentations and projects.
    • Computers in the classroom have the following software installed: Microsoft Office 2003 Professional, SPSS 13.0, BusinessPlan software, Global Business Strategy Game, Microsoft FrontPage, Acrobat Reader, and ETrust Antivirus.
    • In addition to the media equipment and wireless network, two of our classrooms have a power supply at all 50 seats to provide a learning environment necessary for laptop use in the classroom.
  • College of Business Data Servers
    • The College of Business has a data server for Business students. This server is on the network and is accessible in all classrooms and offices in Miller Hall. This provides a place for Business students to save their work in a convenient location. This server is public to all Business students so students are encouraged to password protect their files and always make a backup.
    • The College of Business has a data server for faculty folders accessible to Business students. Faculty use this server to provide data and course materials necessary for Business students to complete required assignments.
    • Both servers are web accessible with a name and password on the College of Business home page. The name and password are provided to the student when they arrive on campus.
  • Portable Presentation Equipment
    • The College of Business has two portable projection systems which Student Organizations use for off-campus presentation and competitions. These systems include a projector, laptop computer, and wireless remote for power point presentations.
