Welcome from the Dean
When you mix the rich culture of New Orleans with the presence of a major sea port, there are few places which can match the setting of Loyola's College of Business . The programs of the College of Business utilize, in part, this diverse setting to help our students to understand and compete in today's global marketplace.
The college continuously improves its programs so as to fulfill our vision of creating a learning place that awakens, enlightens, and transforms students to reach their full leadership potential. Both undergraduate and graduate students will take part in a unique set of learning experiences that uses the city for the rich learning and mentoring experiences which enhance Loyola's business program.
At Loyola, we provide a distinctive mix of faculty excellence and individualized attention to create a superb learning environment. Freshmen in the College of Business participate in our innovative Executive Mentoring Program and upper class students do a semester-long comprehensive Internship. They may also choose to be involved in our highly successful Student Publication Program, co-authoring articles with faculty mentors.
Today, more than ever, businesses need ethical, empowered leaders who invite trust, build community, and value their professional responsibility more than self interest. An enlightened educator once said that "some people change when they see the light, others when they feel the fire." We hope that our students see the light in a business career where values, ethics, and character are not to be left in the corporate parking lot.
With its Ignatian tradition, Loyola provides an excellent setting for the type of Individualized education that it takes to reach one's potential. The faculty of the college are devoted to creating leaders capable of handling the important challenges our students will face throughout their careers.
